Our Beloved Tabby
She was 18.5 years old, a most precious kitty. Our beloved “Tabby” passed on August 19, 2007. We got “Tabby” when she was about a year old on Valentine’s Day, 1990. At that time we lived in the suburbs of Chicago in Naperville IL. I had cats growing up, but this was the first for my husband, Kendall. Kendall was a “dog person”.
When we brought her home, she was scared as this was a new environment. Kendall tried to pet her a couple of times and she hissed at him while batting her paw:) Kendall was afraid of her. But, Tabby soon became acclimated and spent the next 17.5 years of her life with us. She was an extremely personable kitty – almost like a dog – wanting to be wherever we were. And, my husband became a “cat person”, too. We love her very much; she’s with her sister Blackie who passed six years earlier. As it says in the Bible in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” Truly these pets were a gift from God to us.
